



I'm Sam. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Below I've linked my resume, which details all of my experience. Within these pages lies over a decade of design and creative experience in a multitude of mediums, for a vast array of brands, so I don't need to get into that here.
Here, I want to talk about the qualities and abilities that make a great designer. The attributes and skills I have that set me a part and keep my clients and collaborators continuously coming back.
Empathy. I know. The word itself has become an overused, pop-psychology cliche. It is however, one of the most important human qualities a designer can possess. I've always had empathy in abundance. The ability to objectively observe and slip into the shoes of any given demographic. I can visually speak to a retired grandfather in the market for a travel golf bag and then switch right over to a single mom looking for an inexpensive food delivery service. This cross-section of design and sociology has always been a driving fascination for me and it's something I know I have a unique gift for.
The Ability to Execute. Though I love the overall conceptualizing and oversight of a project, I also enjoy, and have the ability to - execute it. I know what's possible, because I have the knowledge and experience to create and deliver it.
Accurate Interpretation & Efficient, Diplomatic Synthesis of Feedback. The comment I hear most often from clients is, "You literally read my mind." This is music to my ears. On the rare occasions that I haven't nailed a direction on the first round, I make sure I've created a comfortable space for feedback. Nothing is personal. This is an environment where we find the right solution together, combining all of our expertise.
Levity. While I know that design has the ability to be potent and impactful, sometimes in really deep, profound ways, I also know that the most effective creative is cultivated in a space of comfort and laughter. We breathe life into successful creative in rooms where everyone feels like they can raise their hand, suggest something ridiculous and be themselves, authentically. I will not stifle my punny dad jokes in the name of professionalism and I don't want anyone on my team to either.
